Huntington Takes on Alabama, Infinite Tucker Approaches State Record

Another team seeking warmer weather, Huntington traveled down to the Mobile Challenge in Alabama this past weekend.

Like many states in the nation, they run the 300m hurdles rather than the 400m hurdles.  This gave the States' top returner for the longer distance an attempt at the record.

Infinite Tucker won the event with ease, after posting a lifetime best in the 110's earlier in the day.  His mark of 37.16 couldn't quite take down the record however.  The record comes from two sources.  The hand-time mark over the 36-inch hurdles comes from Harold Schwab (Centereach, '72) at 36.3y, while the FAT marks comes from Derrick Adkins (Malverne, '88) at 36.93m.  Both athletes are from Long Island, sharing the Island record as well.

Teammate Kyree Johnson took home gold in the 200m, while Lawrence Leake won the 400m.  All three came back to dip under 3:20 in the 4x400m, taking second to the current National Leaders.
