Magic City Will Be Live on MileSplit Tomorrow!

If track is more your, well, speed, than cross country, it's time: the first live event of the 2015-16 track & field season is here! The Magic City Invitational is tomorrow morning starting at 9:00 AM Central time at Birmingham's famously fast CrossPlex. It's the first of six live events from Alabama this indoor season; if you miss this one, the Holiday Invite, Icebreaker, Last Chance Qualifier, Galleria Games, and Hoover Alumni are next.

Two of Alabama's most nationally prominent athletes, Jayla Kirkland and Amaris Tyynismaa are making their season debuts. Kirkland, an 11.33 runner in the 100 outdoors, is doing the 60, while Tyynismaa--usually more of a distance runner--is entered in the 800.  Kirkland competed at World Youths this past summer and is just one one-hundredth of a second shy of the A standard to qualify for the Olympic Trials. And you can watch her Olympic year debut--plus any more of your favorites--live on MileSplit
