Jayla Kirkland (Woodlawn HS) vs Candace Hill (Rockdale Co.)
Kirkland is sitting at US #2 with a blazing 7.47 run at the Holiday Invitational. She is currently undefeated this year in the 60m. Candace Hill traveled over to the Last Chance meet in 2014 taking 4th with a 7.71. The two girls met last year at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals where Hill bettered Kirkland in every event.
Girls 800m
Mary Grace Strozier (Pelham) vs Presley Weems (Hoover)
Strozier has run 2:16 this season. Weems has run 2:19. Both girls have a PR of 2:15. In head to head competition Strozier gets the nod. If they can both avoid traffic at the start, it should be a fast race.
GIRLS 3200
Abbey Weitenbeck vs Kaitln York (American Christian Academy)
Weitenbeck is an 8th grader putting up times like 11:14. Let's let that sink in for a minute. She's US#2 among 8th graders in the 3200m. I'll let you guess who #1 is. York is a senior who has been the champion of small schools everywhere. This year's state Gatorade winner, York brings an 11:18 to the table.
