Salute to Seniors: Hunter Grantland, Hartselle High School

What was your most memorable meet?
My most memorable meet was the 2013 Indoor State Championships because I won 1st place in the 60m dash in 5A.

Where did you face your biggest competition?
I faced my biggest competition whenever I went to Huntsville due to the competition that I was not used to running against.

Out of all of your high school accomplishments which stands out the most?
The one that stands out the most is when I won the state championship in the 60m dash 5A.

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?
I would learn how to pace myself better to benefit my 4x400m relay team more.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?
I did Long Jump for two years and I wasn't too proud of my jumps, but with practice I got slightly better.

What will you miss the most?
I will miss my team the most and all of the fun times that we have had together.

Do you have any advice for younger athletes?
Don't give up and keep on working hard. It gets better in the end.

What are your post-highschool or college plans?
I will be attending Samford University in the fall.

Who would you like to say thank you to?
I would like to say thank you to my coach, my team, and most importantly my family. They have all helped me push harder and farther with each practice and I know they will continue doing so in my college track career.
