2018 Bulldog Invitational

April 13th & 14th 2018

Location: Louis Crews Stadium 4900 Meridian St. N.Huntsville, AL 35810

Facilities & Admission: Louis Crews Stadium The complex consists of a 21,000-seat football stadium, a state of the art press box, 19 luxury suites, and the George Hobson Field House, which houses the football coaching offices, a weight room, and the Robert Mathis locker room. An 8-lane state of the art rubberized track along with jump pits and throwing facilities are in the stadium. An eight-lane rubberized practice track is located adjacent from the stadium as well for general warm-ups.

Admission will be free for students and $5 per adult per a day.

2017-18 AHSAA coaching cards accepted. Coaches with a 2017-18 coaching card from neighboring states we will waive the gate fee. Coaches w/o cards pay Adult gate fees.

Coaches Hospitality will be provided!!!

Parking: Parking will be $5 per day. Parking will be available from the North Memorial Pkwy gate entrance only to the stadium.

Entries & Registration: Registration will be done online at al.milesplit.com Go to meet calendar and find this meet. There is a 3 person/team/event limit and 2 Relay teams/event limit. Each school may only score one relay. A varsity athlete may enter up to 4 events including Relays. No unattached or club athletes may participate in this meet.

HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS Only!!!! Packet Pick -Up will be at the Stadium from 6 am to 10 am.

Entry Fee: Entry fee will be $100.00 (Per Team/Per Gender) There will be a maximum fee of$200 per school. Checks (or a copy of the purchase order for the meet fee) should be brought to the meet. Without such athletes from the non-paying school will not be able to participate.

Entry Deadline: Monday, April 9th 11:59 pm No entries will be taken after that time!

Performance lists will be posted by April 14th on Alabama Runners.

Sanctioning: Application with National Federation for several states will be submitted. Alabama uniform rules will apply. Call /E-mail if you want your state sanctioned for this meet.

Verification of Entry: A printout of your entries will serve as verification of entry into the meet.

Check-in: Track Athletes Check in 15 mins prior to your event. Once checked in you will be required to stay in the clerking area to be escorted out to your event. Warm ups for sprinting,hurdling, starts, accelerations prior to your event at the event area. General warm up will be in adjacent practice track. Pick up Hip numbers at check in. You will be required to have pyramid spikes only!!!!! Spike Check #1 will be at the practice track outside the pod of the warm-up area, a zip -tie will be attached to your spikes. A set of inch spikes will be available for purchase for $5 per pair of shoes at the spike check-in-area. Spike check # 2 will be at checkin.

Field Event Athletes: Report to the Head Field Event Official 45 minutes prior to your event.Implement

Certification: All implements will be checked in by the weights and measures certifying officials during the final call for each event.

Coaching Boxes: Coaching Boxes will be clearly marked around the perimeter of the track for the field events. No athletes are allowed on the infield except those athletes competing in an event that is in progress.

Awards: Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 teams in both Boys and Girls divisions.

Rules: We will use the 2016-17 National Federation rulebook for any rule disputes. Additional AHSAA rules apply.

Scoring: Individual 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 Relays: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1

F.A.T. Timing: SMART Athletics

Field Events: Each jumper/ thrower will have 3 attempts. Top 8 will advance to finals for 3more attempts. In the throws and horizontal jumps, the first mark will be measured, and then subsequent attempts must meet the AHSAA 1A-3A standards to be measured. The MeetDirector may change this at his discretion.

Appeals: Any appeal must be given to the referee in writing accompanied with $25.00 within 30 mins of the conclusion of the event. If appeal is upheld money will be refunded. Appealable offenses are misapplications of NFHSA rules. Judgement calls cannot be appealed.

Concessions & T-shirts will be sold at Stadium.

Meet Format

Invitational Meet for High Schools, Universities, Colleges and unattached Athletes.

Each Visiting Team will be limited to 2 relays Teams per gender.

Heats will be run as seeded Worst to best as per entries.

Lane 1 will not be used and lane 2 will be optional based on the size of the meet entries.

We encourage all Teams to enter accurate marks from 2016-17 season if you have freshmen with no college marks please enter best high school mark.

Fields will be limited 3 Per Field Event and the Top 30 for the running Events. Meet management will allow for additional entries if there is available room.

Additional entry inquiries must be made the day before the meet not on the day off.

Minimum measurements

The minimum measurements will be as follows (subject to be slightly adjusted depending on field size)

Shot 35 women 42 men

Weight 36 women 45 men

Long Jump 17 women 22 men

Triple Jump 35 women 45 men

Seeding

All races will be seeded as finals against time, with the exception of the 100m Dash and 100m/110m Hurdles.

In the LJ, TJ, SP & WT, the top nine collegiate qualifiers will proceed to the finals. Along with any post-collegiate athletes, making the finals this total in each final will not exceed ten.

Lanes

For the 100m Dash and 100m/110m Hurdles, lanes 1-8 will be used.

For the 200m Dash, lanes 2-8 will be used. Preferred lanes are: 5-6-4-7-3-8-2.

For the 400m Dash, lanes 2-8 will be used. Preferred lanes are: 5-6-4-7-3-8-2.

Entry Procedure

All entries must be done online @ www.directathletics.com

Accepted Entries will be closed on Monday 9th at 11:59pm

All Accepted Entries will be posted on Wednesday 11th at 6pm

Unattached Athletes can register at www.directathletics.com and will be allowed to pay their entry fees on the day of the meet.

Meet management will allow for additional entries if room is available.

Check-in

Implement Certification:

All implements in the Hammer Throw and Shot Put, Javelin and Discus will by checked-in by the Weights and Measures Certifying Official during the final call for each event.

Please do not bring implements to the Inspection table before check-in.

Coaches and athletes may use the infield equipment to self-inspect their implements prior to the first check-in of the day.
