  • 2007/2008 Track and Field Officials Rules Clinic Schedule

    Beginning with the 2008 Outdoor season, it is required that every Track and Field officiating applicant pay the application fee and then attend a state sponsored rules clinic and pass a pre-registration examination or complete the online clinic and exam prior to becoming registered with the AHSAA.  Please make your plans to complete one or the other.  Please bring at least one (No.2) pencil to the clinic for the test and your most recent registration card if you are a returning official!January 8 Tuesday Hoover Hoover HS Track Bldg., 6:00 p.m.January 8 Tuesday Mobile Univ. of South Ala, HPEL Bldg., 6:00 p.m.January10 Thursday Cullman Cullman High School, 6:00 p.m.January12 Saturday Smiths  Station HS, 10:00 a.m. (CT)January14 Monday Madison Bob Jones HS, AV Room, 6:00 p.m.January17 Thursday Anniston Saks High School, 6:00 p.m.January19 Saturday Troy Troy Univ, Athletic Aud, 10:00 a.m.  In 2008, AHSAA-registered officials will be required for all meets—2 officials for meets of seven or less teams and 5 officials for meets with 8 or more teams. Coaches that are registered track officials will count in the number of required officials at a meet.

  • Spencer Ferguson named Alabama winner of Wendy's Hesiman Award.

    Congratulations to Spencer Ferguson for being named the statewide winner for the Wendy's Heisman Award.  This award recognizes outstanding students for academics, athletics and community service.  Look for his picture in Wendy's restaurants across the state.

  • Madeline Morgan wins 07 NTN.

     All season long, Madeline Morgan from Mountain Brook has excelled.  No one doubted that she would do well this season, furthermore, no one doubted she would do well at NTN in Portland.  After winning the NTN SouthEast regional meet at Veterans Park in Hoover last weekend, she came back and won the Girls' Championship Race in Portland, Oregon this weekend (18:54.5) outdistancing the 2nd place runner by 10 seconds.  Madeline has not stood alone this season.  Beside her the entire way has been what can only be described as a phenonminal team of girls.  The ladies of Mountain Brook ran an impressive race Saturday to finish 6th overall in the field of top teams in the nation.
