Jax State Women's Cross Country Wraps Up 2010 At NCAA South Regional

HOOVER, Ala. – Jacksonville State's women's cross country team wrapped up its season with a 20th-place showing at the NCAA South Regional, hosted by Samford University.

JSU, who finished fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference Championship two weeks ago, was led by sophomore Ericka Stam. Stam covered the Veterans Park course in 22 minutes, 22:81 seconds to finish 88th in the field of 185 competitors. Kevyn Tracy followed by Stam with a mark of 22:36.19 (100th). Kailey Jensen posted a time of 22:48.09 (112th). Latasha Sturkie and Ashley Stovall wrapped up the Jax State scoring with times of 23:08.47 and 23:31.14 respectively on the 6K course.

Florida State claimed the team title, finishing just ahead of in-state rival Florida. Georgia's Kristie Krueger was the top finisher.

The Gamecock women turned in an impressive 2010 season which included a win at the JSU-hosted Foothills Invitational and top-20 finishes at the Memphis Twilight Classic and the Sean Earl-Loyola University Invitational in Chicago, Ill.
