In a Big 3 race that featured headliners from Florida, Texas and North Carolina, it was KaTia Seymour who took charge in the final 50 meters to win an AAU Junior Olympic 100m title in the 17-18 girls division in 11.59 seconds in 2016.
North Carolina's Tamara Clark was second in 11.66 seconds, while Texas' Kaylor Harris was third in 11.76.
Seymour, who went on to win two state titles in the 100m and 200m in her senior season, heads to Florida State University in the fall. Clark will compete at the University of Alabama, while Harris heads to Texas Tech University.

On the boys side, Pennsylvania's Terrance Laird overcame a rough block start to find his top speed late and scored his first AAU Junior Olympic 100m title in the 17-18 boys division in 10.63 seconds in 2016.
Laird, who heads to Penn State University on a full scholarship in the fall, sped past Jeffrey Hulon (10.65), Kenedy Snell (10.66) and Eric Allen Jr. (10.66) in the final 5 meters of the race.
In his senior season Laird also claimed his first titles in the 200m and 4x100m relay.
