Back In New Jersey, Sydney McLaughlin Lands 13th Best 400 Hurdle Performance All-Time

In her first outdoor competition in New Jersey this season, Union Catholic High star and Olympian Sydney McLaughlin flourished with a 56.15 second effort in the 400m hurdles at the 29th annual Blue Devil Classic at Westfield High, which stands as the 13th best time outdoor effort all-time in high school.

Her effort was nearly 11 seconds faster than the next closest competitor.

Of course, McLaughlin also the all-time high school best and world junior record of 54.15 seconds, which she accomplished last July at the US Olympic Trials and cut into her former top effort of 54.46, which at the time broke a 32-year-old record.

McLaughlin, who owns seven of the top 10 times in the event all-time, also was part of Union Catholic's win the 4x200 relay with a time of 1:39.10.
