Interview: Daniel alumna Stephanie Gammon

scrunners: What does it mean to you to receive athlete of the week honors two weeks in-a-row?
gammon: I am honored to receive this award. It shows that the work I did this summer had a positive effect. Although this is an individual accomplishment, credit also needs to be given to my coach for his knowledge and to my teammates, who push me in workouts which transfers over to my overall meet performance.

scrunners: How would you rate your season so far?  My season is going well so far.
gammon: I have started off well and hope to improve with every meet performance.

scrunners: How did your summer training going?
gammon: My summer training was great. I got in a lot of miles and a little speed which I think has lead to me having more strength coming in this year.

scrunners: What do you see yourself achieving this season and as a team?
gammon: I see myself as being a contender  at the conference meet and  our team competing for the top spot in our conference.  Our conference performance will lead us to peaking at regionals.

scrunners: If there is one thing you can say to high school athletes in S.C. what would that be?
gammon: To believe in yourself and your ability and to not measure yourself by others best but your own.
