Scouting Report: Mountain Brook

Summer training...   We have practices  5 days a week,  1 day of hills,  1 day of easy pace 800’s,  3 distance days.  You have to come to 10 during summer.
The team for most part came back in pretty good shape  A few as usual did not get in as much as we would have liked but top kids look great

Newcomers...    In girls picked we up Joy McRae and Natalie Jones who ran JV last year  They both had good summers and are running comfortably in top 10 at this point     Margaret Anne Clark is new this year from tennis and running really well.
In the Boys we have several new young runners who have moved up from the junior high  and Drew Williams and Spencer Hinson have shown great improvements after a great summer of training   We will be led by two seniors Michael Clark and Marshall Smith

Both teams will be young.  Our goal is always to build team chemistry and strength early and  build speed and intensity as we move toward state and a hopeful peak the second week in November

Schedule is a little different this year because of Homecoming being so early, but rest pretty much same. We will travel to Virginia this year for our big trip. We alternate driving and flying for our trips, so this is a drive year.

Hopefully it is going to be a successful, fun year. Team chemistry is great so far, which usually leads to fast times as season progresses. With new 7A section which will be harder than the state meet, we had better be ready or we like everyone else in our section, may stay home.
