Scouting Report: Sipsey Valley Boys

You return a top 5 with a team average of 17:51 this year.  How does the team look after summer practices so far?
The guys look strong. Our top guys have been more consistent with their training this summer and are focused on building a strong base. They have enjoyed some flexibility and fun in their training schedules that include everything from early morning to midnight runs - all in the name of beating the heat! Team practices throughout the summer have shown a steady progression of strength and stamina.

Any new additions to the team or surprises we can expect?
We have everybody back from last year and have added a few new Freshmen. Our senior leaders, Jonathan Pearce and Logan Crowell should lead the way but will be challenged by Juniors Brian Washington and Gregory Parker. There are several guys that will battle for the number five position which is what we want.

What is your schedule this season and are you changing anything up?
We will follow most of our 2013 schedule with the exception of two races. This year, we will include Spain Park and Helena.

What goals has your team established for this season?
Each of our guys have specific areas in which they hope to improve. Along with their personal goals which include 3 guys under 17:00, they are determined to be competitive at the state level.
