Meet Preview
Mary Grace Strozier enters the race on Saturday with the fastest time this season. Although her team did not qualify for state she is the top pick for the top individual spot. Veronica Lyle, who led the leaderboard for some of this season, will enter Saturday with the best season average. Sydney Steely is Hoover's 8th grader that ran 18:47 last year in the state meet. Jessica Molloy who was an Arizona transfer finished 2nd in the state meet last year. She hasnt quite hit those quick time we saw last season. It will be a close race between these girls.
Mountain Brook looks to repeat as the top team this year. The Spartan make-up is a bit different this year as half the team are 9th grade and under. We can debate the next few teams but my guess is Hoover over a close Vestavia team with Hewitt-Trussville and Spain Park rounding out the top 5.
